Hadrians wall and Beatrix Potters house

I can cross seeing Hadrians wall off my bucket list, I can now say I have walked on the wall and seen an ancient Roman Fort from 1800 years ago.
Beatrix Potters house is in the beautiful Lake District, it was wonderful to see where she wrote her wonderful books, there was an original peter rabbit stuffed toy that she bought in Harrods but she never liked it as it didnt have whiskers.

So here we are in beautiful Edinburgh, so far we have been to a wonderful musical comedy called the rat pack, Michael was called onto stage to be barman for Frank Sinatra, Michael said he stole the show and did it his way haha.
The edinburgh fringe festival is on for the whole of August and the crowds are crazy huge, last night the 4 of us had an amazing dinner in Edinburgh castle with the lone piper performing privately for us, then watched the incredible spectacle of the Royal military tattoo, it rained, we all got soggy and cold but the smiles never dimmed, after we headed to Michael's bar (The Bow Bar) for a nice warming whisky.

So here we are in Majorca, this was a spur of the moment decision to fly here for a week for some much needed relaxation and vitamin D, Lindesay booked this late friday morning and we flew out of edinburgh on the sunday. The weather is beautiful and hot today about 35 degrees, and I've ticked another thing off my bucket list and that is to have paella and sangria in Spain, sitting around the pool now catching up on blogs, emails and writing my new book of poetic short stories.

LBK and Anne's big day out

Today was a huge day out, we went by bus to Inca and visited a leather product outlet, then went through the Lluc valley by bus, omg I dont do so well with heights let alone on a huge bus on narrow roads with no safety barriers over a mountain, then we went to a beautiful seaside hilly stop for lunch in Calobra, it was beautiful there, from there we caught a boat to Porto De Soller, another gorgeous seaside stop, from here we went by tram to Soller, straight onto a train for 27 kms through many tunnels the longest was 3 kms, the train stopped at Banyola and from there on a bus back to our hotel in Peguera, a very long fabulous day and a very nice Aperol Spritz sitting looking out over the Mediterranean Sea. We leave here tomorrow and go back to Edinburgh, then on tuesday we are going to Croatia with Michael and Joanne.
